Dr Rebecca Baggaley
Rebecca Baggaley, MA MSc PhD
Dr Rebecca Baggaley is an epidemiologist specialising in mathematical modelling of infectious diseases and systematic reviews and meta-analysis. She holds a BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a PhD in Epidemiology from Imperial College London.
Rebecca employs mathematical models and statistical analyses to study the transmission dynamics of infectious diseases and the impact of maternal and reproductive health interventions.
Since completing her PhD in HIV epidemiology and mathematical modelling she was awarded a Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for her work modelling HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. She has also worked as a health economist for a wide range of medical conditions. In 2014 she joined LSHTM to work on maternal and reproductive health. Her current work includes evaluating HIV interventions, pneumococcus serotype distribution and Chagas disease control.
